NLC Tasks Turkish President On Good Governance

under the leadership of Comrade Ayuba Wabba,  has condemned  the recent coup  attempt  in Turkey by a section of the  army known as “ “Peace at Home Movement” even as it urged the country’s President to put in place good governance.
NLC  expressed dismsy over the last Friday ‘s failed coup which claimed over   290 lives (including 161 government forces and civilians) along side   colossal  infrastructural damage.
In a statement signed by the National  President,  Comrade Ayuba  Wabba,  the union noted that whatever  reason  cited by the officers  is no justification for the attempt to change a democratically elected government  through gun running .
The Statement read in parts “ The officers cited as reason for the coup , the need to “reinstate constitutional order, human rights and freedom, the rule of law and general security that was damaged” We at the Nigeria Labour Congress condemn this coup attempt, the reasons adduced by the officers notwithstanding.
However the  Labour  Union  also used yhe opportunity  to caution  the Turkish government,  the President,   Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan in particular  to look inwards and  find out where he has failed  his citizens  and retrace his steps.
