Algeria Sets W/Cup, AFCON Targets For Coach
Algeria has set two targets
for new coach Milovan Rajevac – qualify the country to the 2018 World Cup and reach at least the semi-final of the 2017 AFCON.
According to the Algeria FA, Rajevac, 62, who was fondly called ‘Milo’ during his successful time in Ghana, has been tasked to meet these two targets.
The Serbian’s appointment was announced recently by the Algerian Football Federation.
Rajevac has succeeded French Christian Gourcuff, who left amicably in April after the Desert Foxes’ second-leg match against Ethiopia, the fourth day of the African Cup of Nation 2017 qualifiers.
Algeria is in ‘Group of Death’ for Russia 2018 alongside Nigeria, Cameroon and Zambia.
They host Cameroon in their opening qualifier on October 3.
