Workers in the elec
tricity sector under the aegis of National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), have threatened to withdraw their investment in some financial institutions in Nigeria over anti-labour activities.
This is contained in a protest letter signed by Mr Joe Ajaero, General Secretary of the union and made available to our correspondent in Lagos on Wednesday.
The letter said that the financial institutions were involved in casualisation, arbitrary sack, non- unionisation of workers and other anti-labour activities.
“We will not hesitate to ask employers in our sector to stop further payment of staff salaries through the banks if the situation remains unabated,” the letter said.
It urged the  management of the relevant institutions to stop their anti-labour activities in the interest of peace in the sector.
