RSG Plans Hi-Tech Hospital For RSUST

The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has stated that his administration will establish a state-of-the-art teaching hospital to support the College of Medical  Sciences set up for the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST).
Addressing  journalists at  the  old site of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital yesterday,  Governor Wike said that the  College of Medical Sciences of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology will produce well-trained  doctors.
He said  that  the  RSUSTTH  will start at the Braithwaite Memorial Hospital before moving to  its permanent  site at the old University of Port Harcourt  Teaching Hospital which will serve as its  permanent  site.
He said, “the College of Medical Sciences and the Rivers State University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital will be developed to train world class doctors and medical personnel.
“I am here to inspect the facilities of the proposed permanent site for the RSUST Teaching Hospital. I am happy with what I have seen”.
The  governor  noted that his administration  will  continue  to  take steps to improve access to  quality healthcare in the state.
He was accompanied  on the inspection  visit by the Chairman  of  the  Governing Council of the RSUST,  Justice Iche Ndu (rtd), Rivers State Commissioner for Health,  Dr Theophilus Odagme and the Chief Medical  Director of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Prof Aaron  Ojule.
