Poor Form Worries Dream Team VI

Okechukwu has told newsmen that the poor run of the Nigeria Olympic team is a cause for concern.
The African U23 champions were pathetic at a recent Suwon International Tournament in South Korea, where they lost two games including suffering a 6-2 hammering at the hands of Denmark.
On Saturday, the Dream Team VI lost for the second time to their U20 counterparts in a test game.
Captain Okechukwu said the team’s slump has got everyone worried.
“I am very concerned and it’s the same with the other players and we have been holding meetings on how we can improve,” captain Okechukwu said.
“We are really having a bad time now.”
Coach Samson Siasia has already released a provisional list of 35 players, from which a final squad of 18 players and four standby players will be selected.
The team will leave from tomorrow for the United States, where they will train before heading to Brazil for the Olympics.
They are drawn against Sweden, Japan and Colombia at the Rio Olympics in August.
Meanwhile, the team will leave in two batches to a training camp in the United States of America from tomorrow , officials have told newsmen.
The first batch will leave Abuja with the second batch flying out the following day.
The team are then due in Mexico for a friendly on July 2.
Coach Samson Siasia has already named a provisional 35-man squad for the Rio Olympics in August.
It is expected that most of the foreign-based professionals on the squad will join up with the Dream Team in Atlanta, USA.
However, overseas-based Oghenekaro Etebo, Usman Mohammed, Godwin Saviour, Stanley Amuzie, Sadiq Umar and Azubuike Okechukwu will leave with the squad in the new week.
