NCF Discovers 20 Talents In Rivers

No fewer than 20 talents
have been discovered in the recently concluded cricket competition tagged “National Primary Schools Cricket Tournament held in Port Harcourt.
This was disclosed by head coach of the Rivers State Cricket Association, Tonye Timiadi in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
The competition which was held at the Police Children School field had five schools participate in the tournament, which saw Police Children Primary School emerge winners of the contest.
Others were St. Cyprians Primary and UPE Primary School who clinched second and third positions respectively.
Schools that took part in the tournament include Police Children Primary, Emarid Primary, St. Cyprians UPE Primary and Y.W.C.A.
Earlier, coach Timinadi has said that the aim of the competition was achieved, saying that the kids had showcased great talents at the tournament.
“We are proud to say that the aim of the competition was achieved because the kids have showcased talents and about 20 of them were discovered”, he said.
He also said that the Nigeria Cricket federation (NCF) has resolved to holding the competition annually.
