Group Plans Miss Evo Beauty Pageant
The management of
Omega Legend Productions organisers of the “Miss Evo Beauty Queen Contest has said that the programme was part of the effort to empower the girl child in Evo Kingdom.
The president of the organisation, Mr Lawrence Uche Lawrence who disclosed this during a courtesy call on the paramount ruler of Mgbuesilaru community in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State , Eze Ejike Wali, also said that the event was to cement the relationship between various ethnic groups in Evo Kingdom.
He said that empowering the girl child had become very important in view of the roles being played by the women folk in the development of the society.
According to him, the second edition of the Beauty pageant which holds on the 26th of June 2016 will also showcase the rich cultural heritage of Evo Kingdom.
He thanked the traditional ruler for his continuous royal support, stressing that though, last year’s pageant was a big event, this year’s promises to be bigger going by the number of contestants.
Responding, HRH Eze Ejike Wali thanked the organisation for its effort towards showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Evo Kjngdom as well as move to empower the girl child in the Kingdom.
Eze Wali who described Evo Kingdom as the largest and most economically viable Kingdom in Obio/Akpor also urged the models to be good ambassadors of Evo Kingdom, noting that they must avoid those things that will betray them.
The Mgbuesilaru monarch also pledged to involve multinationals in subsequent editions of the event and urged the organisations to count on the blessings and supports of traditional rulers in the area.
