The Commissioner of
Police in Enugu State, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, has urged police officers and men to shun negative tendencies that can damage their goodwill.
Addressing the officers and men at Udi Divisional Police Headquarters near Enugu, Ojukwu said that such negative tendencies would dent the partnership with the members of the public.
“We are building a professional and dedicated police; that which the people will hold in high esteem.
“The command will not tolerate any act of misconduct that can tarnish its image or negative tendencies that will distance the public or our civil partners from being helpful to us.
“As you know, we need the members of the public for effective pro-active policing and securing the state,’’ he said.
The commissioner was accompanied to the division by the Area Commander for Oji River, Mr Ikechukwu Odokoro, the command’s spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu and the officer in-charge of the command’s intelligence bureau, Mr Iwara Ibiang.
