The developmental
strides of the Rivers State Government under the leadership of Chief Nyesom Wike has been described as a landmark achievement of a government that has the interest of the people at heart.
The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Youth Wing, South-South, Ekiye C. Ekiye made this assertion while speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt over the weekend, adding that the various developmental activities of the present government in the state cut across all human endeavours.
Ekiye lauded Wike for his administration’s commitment to the development of the state despite the lean financial resources, adding that the state governor has demonstrated the political will to justify the confidence reposed on him by the people of the state.
The CAN youth chairman used the opportunity to call on the government to ensure prompt payment of civil servants salaries, adding that any development without human development would have little impact in the society.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to put every machinery in place inorder to conclude all the suspended re-run election in the state, adding that Rivers people were suffering because of non-representation both at the Assembly and the State House of Assembly.
