Nollywood top actress,
Shan George, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the $200 million grant to the Nigerian film industry popularly called Nollywood by the immediate past president of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
This is a follow up to a similar call by Larry Williams urging President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the $200 million released to the creative industry in Nigeria by former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
This forced a statement out of the Bank of Industry (BOI) which claimed that the money was never released to them by the last administration.
The actress, who is presently on a set in Calabar, Cross River State, said the EFCC should bean its searchlight on Nollywood because she believes the industry is corrupt “I am using this fine morning to ask this fine question, who ate the money ex-President Jonathan gave to Nollywood?, EFCC please probe this”, she said.
