RSG’s ICT Policy Delights Media Consultant
The Manager, Avid
Media Consultancy Firm, Mr. Godwin Uchegbuo, has expressed delight over Rivers State Government’s initiatives on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development in the State.
He said the move by the state government to include ICT provision as necessary requirement for private schools was a good idea.
Uchegbuo stated this while fielding question from pressmen Tuesday in his office in Port Harcourt.
The media expert noted that if the government did not take the matter that seriously, private school owners would not have taken the issue seriously.
He explained that ICT training was better for children when they are at formative years.
To press down his message, he said those struggling to adopt or adjust to the ICT system are those who were denied of such opportunity during their formative days.
Furthermore, he recalled how analogue system increased work-load for workers, which, according to him was responsible for low productivity.
He tasked school proprietors to ensure that the government’s order on ICT was carried out as stipulated.
The media guru also pleaded with the school owners not to see the decision as a punishment, but a solution to some of the puzzle facing the education sector.
The Tide learnt that some school owners in the state have already started complying with the directives, while others are yet to key in.
