Rivers SWAN Assures On Sports Dev

Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Rivers State branch says they would support the State Government to develop sports in all ramifications.
The association further lauded the state government for sponsoring the forthcoming Joseph Yobo testimonial match scheduled to hold next weekend at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, in Port Harcourt.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the organiers, Sopriala Bobmanuel and Mike Osarogumba, respectively.
According to the statement, the honour been given to Yobo, will no doubt encourage others to strive for excellence in their respective professions.
“We feel that involvement of sportswriters in the state for the event will further boost the publicity of the game, since the bulk of fans are yet to be informed adequately”, he said.
The SWAN boss also used the forum to commend the State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Boma Iyaye for the encouragement given to the state-owned football club, Rivers United and enjoined the team to reciprocate the gesture by lifting the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.
