Enugu Rangers coach, Imama Amapakabo has declared his team mean business this season after more than three decades without a major trophy and that is why they are top of the Nigeria league standings.
The ‘Flying Antelopes’ maintained their position on the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League table after they thrashed basement boys Ikorodu United 4-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium at the weekend.
They are top of the table with 31 points, a point ahead of second-placed Abia Warriors, who have played a game less.
And Amapakabo says the statistics from their performances from the beginning of the season have proved they deserve to be where they are at the moment.
“We have been able to prove how good we are this season and we have had all sorts of records,” he told newsmen.
“We have been on top of the table for about ten weeks so far and we have scored in all our games except the goalless draw with Warri Wolves.
“So the records are there to prove it and I’m glad the first round of the season is coming to an end and initially people thought we were testing the waters but I think now it is obvious we know how cold the water is.”
