PDP Felicitates With Rivers Workers

Democratic Party (PDP) Rivers State Chapter, Brother Felix Obuah has joined other institutions and well meaning citizens to congratulate Nigerian workers on the occasion of this year’s May Day, describing them as pillars on which any successful administration stands.
Obuah, who stated this in a statement and considering the prevailing hard economic situation in the country, the Nigerian workers have been made to suffer undesirable and avoidable pains and hardship but have remained faithful and spirited in the discharge of their duties to services at various points of duty posts.
According to him, those are exceptional qualities exhibited by the workers which has to be commended.
He said an average worker in Nigerian is broadminded and hard working with high perseverance disposition and as well being dedicated to his duty and responsibilities.
“This year collaboration however convey with some challenges in view of the present economic dislocation in the country following the absence of national budget havoc of definite economic policy framework by the federal government, budgetary irregularities and inability of the federal executive council and the National Assembly to have a common ground, regarding the 2016 budget which is yet to be passed even at about half of the year, Obuah stated.
This development, “requires our teeming civil servants and indeed all Nigerians to be more courageous and patriotive to be able to contend with this avoidable economic meltdown apparently occasioned by lack of focus, unexperience, and political manoeuvering by drivers of the nation’s economic policy”.
The PDP sympathized with the workers and indeed all Nigerians over the pains of having no petroleum product available, lack of steady power, high and skyrocketed cost of commodities high transportation and delay in payments of salaries of federal civil servants as well as victimization and undue termination of appointment of innocent workers in federal parastatals, ministries and agencies.
He commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike for doing everything possible to put smiles on the faces of all workers in the state, particularly in the area of regular payment of salaries and pension, timely promotion of workers and resuscitation of oiling public facilities and provision of basis amenities in the state.
The PDP Chairman urged worker to continue to support and cooperate with the government in the state and to be more proactive in the discourage of their duties in reciprocation of the good works of the present administration.
