Mayor Vows To Tackle Insecurity In PH City
The Chairman,
Caretaker Committee for Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the State, Mr Sony Ejekwu, has promised to take the issue of security with high sense commitment and dedication.
Mr Ejekwu made this assertion while speaking with journalists in his office shortly after he administered and assigned portfolios to his caretaker committee members during a short ceremony held at the council, Monday.
The PHALGA CTC boss said he partnered with the various security operatives in the area to ensure that absolute environment was provided for business operators to thrive in the area and added that the council would ensure that it lives up to its responsibilities as that regard.
According to him, during his first appointment he had a partnership with the security agencies that assisted in ensuring peace and stability in the area, adding that he would continue in such partnership with security agencies in the area.
“Last time, we did achieve a lot in the areas of security, we are not going to relent, such challenges would be over, he stated”.
The Chairman used the opportunity to warn those whose stock in trade was to cause public discomfort to have a rethink or be prepared to face the wrath of the law, adding that his administration would not condole any form of crisis in the area.
He thanked the State Governor and the people of the area for the opportunity given to him and members to serve and assured of their commitment to justify the confidence reposed on them.
