…Massacre Five Policemen In Ahoada West LGA

Unknown gunmen
have killed five policemen including a Deputy Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Nasuru Halidu in Okagbe, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at about 3-am along the Okagbe axis of the East West Road.
The officers were said to be ambushed by the unknown gunmen on their way back to Yenagoa, while returning from special duties in Yobe State.
Confirming the incident to journalists, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ahmed Muhammad described the killing as sad adding that the deceased officers were attached to 30 Police Mobile Force (PMF), Yenagoa.
He averred that the police was pained by the killing of their colleagues attached to 30 PF, Yenagoa who were ambushed Sunday early morning on their way back to their attachment area.
“Today’s killing again has demonstrated the enormous calamities members of the force face and witness in the course of performing our duties. We put our lives on the line every day to confront crime and violence in communities,” adding that the police will fish out those behind the killing.
