IGP Unveils New Spy Police Uniform … Gives Mass Promotion

The Inspector-
General of Police IGP, Solomon Arase has unveiled the new uniform for spy policemen working under multinational companies in the country.
Unveiling the new customised spy police uniforms at a brief ceremony held at the premises of the SPDC  in Port Harcourt, Monday, said the gesture was to distinguish the spy policemen from the conventional police force.
IGP Solomon Arase also directed the immediate promotion of officers who had spent eight years in their current ranks to the next rank, adding that the directive was in line with his meeting with management of the SPDC.
He called on the officers to always remain ambassadors of the Nigeria police by remaining discipline and dutiful adding that the police authorities would not condole any act of indolence in the discharge of their duty.
The police IG described the Spy police  as an integral partner in the nation’s security especially in the areas of oil exploration and pipeline surveillance.
He warned them to be civil in their operations and observe traffic rules while on duty adding that he had directed the commissioner of police to punish any officer found in misconduct.
He used the opportunity to warn that the police would begin the arrest of any spy police officers found still wearing the uniform of the conventional police.
