Ifeanyi Ubah To Head NNL?
There are very strong in
dications that controversial billionaire owner of Nigeria premier league side FC IfeanyiUbah will soon be installed as the new chairman of the country’s second-tier league, the Nigeria National League (NNL).
On Tuesday, a controversial election of the Anambra FA was conducted a day before it was scheduled and it produced oil magnate Ifeanyi Ubah as chairman.
A top source informed AfricanFootball.com that this is a first step to a grand plan to get Ubah to head the NNL and that way get on the executive committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
A new governance structure of the NNL endorsed by the congress will see the NFF appoint the chairman of the league, who will also sit on the NFF executive board.
Ubah was only recently sanctioned for punching a Heartland player after a match involving his club in Nnewi.
