Etete Hails Wike’s Developmental Strides
The Special Adviser to the
Rivers State Governor on Political Matters, Pastor Monwan Owoh Etete has said that Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s commitment to the execution of people-oriented programmes has led to the rehabilitation and construction of over 500-kilometre of roads since assuming office.
Etete stated this in a chat with The Tide in Port Harcourt at the weekend.
Etete, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, dismissed insinuations by the opposition that Governor Wike has failed in providing purposeful leadership in the state, saying the Governor has shown zeal and commitment to complete all abandoned projects by the past administration in one year, despite the state’s lean purge.
He said Wike kick started his administration on a good note despite the fact that the immediate past government did not formally hand over to identify the badly needed projects that were abandoned, for completion in the state.
The Special Adviser said apart from capital projects, the Governor has been fulfilling his campaign promises by ensuring prompt payment of workers salaries and pensions.
On the spate of killings in some parts of the state, the PDP Chieftain expressed hope that the administration will overcome the present security challenges in the state, saying that Rivers State remains the most peaceful state compared to other states of the federation.
Urging the citizenry to be patient with the Wike administration in its effort at rebuilding the state, Etete said it was a measure of Wikes purposefulness in governance that the coalition of political parties in the state shunned the All Progressives Congress (APC) to wholeheartedly show unflinching support for the governor.
