Bizman Docked Over Car Theft In Lagos
A 30-year-old
businessman, Tope Ogunleye, who allegedly stole a vehicle valued at N1.4 million from a parking lot, was recently brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Ogunleye, who lives in Ekiti, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and forgery.
The Prosecutor, insp. Essien Ndarake, told the court that the accused had on May 10 stolen a vehicle with registration no. LSD 704 XN valued at N1.4 million, property of Mrs. Alimot Alao, the complainant.
According to the prosecutor, the vehicle was stolen from where it was parked at Motorway Park, Seven-Up Alausa, Ikeja.
“The complainant’s driver parked the vehicle at a car park and came back the following day to discover that the vehicle had been stolen.
“The complainant reported the case to the police who later found the vehicle after some days at Ojota area of Lagos.
“The accused claimed the ownership of the vehicle and was asked to show proof of ownership.
