TUC Urges Govt To Partner Private Sector
The Trade Union
Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has called for government partnership with the private sector for the economy to thrive.
In a statement in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the National President TUC, Comrade Bobboi Kaigama, said that the partnership would create a conducive environment for the private sector to thrive for sustainable development and restructuring of the financial system in line with people’s needs.
Kaigama said that government’s provision of enabling environment for the industrial sector such as manufacturing would further prove an effective collaboration between government and the private sector to revive the economy.
He said that the challenge of national development is for the government to manage the economy with a view to promoting employment opportunities and growth.
He called for the diversification of the economy to take place and cautioned against continued dependence on petroleum based economy, adding that growth and development of the economy an be achieved through the active support of government.
