Sanitation Mobile Court Sits Weekly – Konya

Commissioner for Environment, Professor Roseline Konya has disclosed plans by the ministry to ensure the weekly sitting of the sanitation mobile court.
Professor Konya who said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt also said that the Thursday weekly environmental sanitation exercises in markets across the state is still in force.
The commissioner said that the situation is part of the determination by the state government to ensure cleanliness in all parts of the state.
Professor Konya stressed the need for Rivers people to keep their environments clean to keep away rats and other vectors.
The commissioner said that the ministry is working with caretaker committees of the 23 local government councils to ensure regular sanitation exercises in their areas.
Also speaking to The Tide, the state coordinator of Rivers Sanitation Marshalls Prince Sodin Akiaba commended Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for giving more attention to the cleanliness of Port Harcourt and its environs.
He said that the situation will surely restore the pride of Port Harcourt as the Garden   City of Nigeria.
Prince Akiaba who is a member of the state sanitation committee also warned against the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the city.
