Rivers Rerun: 10 Petition Tribunal

The Rivers State national and State House of Assembly Election petition Tribunals sitting in Port Harcourt says it has received 10 petitions arising from the just-concluded re-run elections in the state.
The Secretary of the Tribunal, Barr Surajo A. Gusau disclosed this to newsmen at the tribunal’s secretariat domiciled at the Block C, High Court, State judiciary Complex in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Gusau stated that at the moment, the tribunal has commenced the process of documentation of all the petitions received by the secretariat in respect of the just-concluded re-run elections in the state.
The head of the Secretariat, however, did not give details, particulars and identities of the petitioners and their parties but promised to do so tomorrow.
“What I can tell you now is that we have received 10 petitions so far, I can’t mention their names for now but by Thursday, certainly I will tell you. The work is stressful. What I am doing now is signing and documentation.
By Thursday, I will transfer them to a register”, he stated.
