Lawyer Urges Colleagues To Vote Wisely

lawyer and human rights crusader, Barr. Jackson Assor, has called on members of the Port Harcourt branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA) to elect credible leaders during the forthcoming NBA election.
Barr. Assor, who stated this while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, noted that only a credible leader would be able to bring the Bar out of the woods.
He said in the past, the NBA leaders had been pliable in the hands of government and expressed regrets that pliability of the Barr had made it vulnerable under the immediate past government in the state.
Barr Assor explained that the closure of the courts occasioned by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) strike had meted out so much hardship on lawyers.
He said that some lawyers died during the more than one year closure of the court, while a multitude of others found it hard to make ends meet.
According to him, the NBA campaign is ongoing, we are receiving text messages from aspirants but the truth of the matter is that no one should vote out of sentiment. We must vote those who would make our NBA better.
Barr. Assor stated that the NBA must work concertedly if they were to make any meaningful achievement.
