Group Blames Insecurity, Corruption On Failed System

A non governmental
organisation in the country, Global Network for peace and Development (GNRD) has blamed the level of thuggery, corruption and extra judicial killings in Nigeria on a failed system.
National Coordinator of the organisation, Ambassador Sylvester Okoduwa who said this at the first National Consultative forum of the group in Port Harcourt stressed the need for equity and Justice for all suffering Nigerians irrespective of the ethnic and political affiliations.
Ambassador Okoduwa stressed the need for all strata of the society to be included in the peace building project and stressed the need for all members of the society it give the desired support to the leadership both at the state and National levels to achieve peace and enhance the much-needed development.
“We must all support our leaders to enhance the development we require.
“There is noting we can achieve by violence lets us be peace makers, peace ambassadors, and bridge builders”.
The coordinator also urged the government to take the issue of unemployment and insecurity seriously adding that a situation where about 700,000 applicants are looking for 10,000 placements in the Nigeria police force is unhealthy.
Okoduwa urged members of the group to go back to their respective states, constituencies and wards to “light the touch of peace and disseminate the information to the grassroots.
He commended the delegates for their support and urged them to take the information very seriously.
