D-F Basketball Tourney Holds In PH

Programme in conjunction with Rivers State Basketball Association has commenced the fourth edition of AMK Foundation Basketball Tournament sponsored by Engr Musa Ahmedu Kida
The competition tagged “Operation Represent Your Play Ground” kicked off on Monday, at Basketball Court, Niger Street, Old Port Harcourt Township.
According to the programme director of DA-F Basketball programme, Fubara H. Onyanabo,  the one week competition is geared towards discovering and exposing new talents in the state.
“This tournament is basically geared towards promoting and developing the game. It is also to keep the teeming youths busy.
I further urge them to channel their energy towards positive venture” Onyanabo said.
He explained that the championship was his brain child which he solely sponsored the first edition in 2013 and dedicated it to Engr Musa A. Kida for his outstanding contributions to the development of the game in the state and beyond.
“This edition featured a team from Borno State (Kanem Warriors) it will start with two groups going into round lobbing the two top teams  goes straight to semi-finals”, he stated.
Onyanabo equally said that trophies, plaques and monetary awards would be presented to winners at different levels.
