Commissioner Harps On Diligence Among Nursing Students
Students of the Rivers State
School of Nursing and Midwifery as well as College of Health Science and Technology have been charged to show and remain diligent in their studies to prove their prowess in healthcare service delivery in the state.
The Commissioner, Rivers State Ministry of Health, Dr Theophilus Odagme made the call during his facility tour to the different institution, Monday.
Odagme noted that the schools, particularly the School of Nursing and Midwifery have relevant roles to play in the reduction of infant and maternal mortality in the state, maintaining that the present administration would leave no stone unturned in achieving this goal.
While noting that the medical profession was such that demands absolute concentration, Odagme urged the students to avoid distractions in the course of their studies adding that such act would prove their competence and self-worth in the discharge of their services.
I congratulate you on your admission but, I must remind you that you are in a very competitive environment and therefore should avoid distractions in your studies in order to come out successfully and competently in your duties and services,” Odagme said.
