The Managing Director/
Chief Executive Officer of M.D. Plaza, a catering and entertainment outfit in Port Harcourt, Ambassador Dala Iboroma has appealed to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike to empower and encourage youths in the state to go into business ventures in order to reduce the unemployment challenges facing the state.
Iboroma who made the appeal at the presentation of N100,000 cash award  to each ten customers of his company at the weekend in Port Harcourt, said that helping those in the private sector would enable them contribute to the economic development of the state.
The N100,000 Guinness award was a fall out of the scratch-and-win promo currently going on in the state.
Speaking while presenting the cheques to the winners on behalf of Guinness Nigeria Plc, brewers of the Guinness stout, Iboroma who is a major distributor for the company said that the award was a clear evidence that what people watched on the television about such awards was real.
He said that for the company to have brought the exercise to reality in Port Harcourt instead of Lagos as in the past has now convinced and given more trust to it from the consumers of their products.
“I give kudos to Guinness and I want them to continue in that manner in Rivers state and not in Lagos alone to let people know that they are serious and to encourage their patrons,” Iboroma said, advising the consumers of  Guinness and other alcoholic drink to do so with caution and avoid driving drunk.
Two of the winners of the award, Mr Arinze Okwuoha and Nene Harry in different interviews expressed gratitude to Guinness Nigeria for the gesture which they said would solve a bit of their financial problems and urged the company to continue to assist their customers.
