All Stars Tennis Club 1994 Organizes Easter Tournament
As part of activities to
mark the Easter celebrations, All Stars Tennis Club 1994 organised an American singles and Doubles tennis tournament in Port Harcourt as Peter Ekpeyong and Gbenga Omole emerged winners respectively.
The tournament which took place at No 5 Field Tennis Parvillion, Bende/Niger Street, Port Harcourt Township on Monday also have Kareen Hakeem and Barasimeye Collins as first and second runners-up in the singles, while Henry Jeremiah and Boma Precious also emerged second and third in the Doubles.
Speaking at the end of the tournament, the President of All Stars Tennis Club 1994, Sotonye Sert Sekiri thanked members for their commitment to promote recreational activities like tennis and enjoined them to keep up the spirit.
Sekiri noted that tennis is a game of all age-brackets and therefore should be encouraged at all levels pointing out that All Stars Tennis Club would continue to ensure promotion of the game.
He also lauded the Rivers State Government for providing sporting facilities in Port Harcourt metropolis, stressing that it would help fish out hidden talents as well as engage the people meaningfully, and called for regular maintenance.
The club president also commended members of the Port Harcourt Dancers Association for their exciting performance and display of talents during the tournament.
