The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dr. Austin Tam-George, has said that the Nyesom Wike’s administration remains committed to the delivery of all electioneering promises made to the people of Rivers State.
The Commissioner stated this during the ground breaking ceremony of the building of the phase two of the Rumuowoji (Mile One Market) in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Tam-George disclosed that Wike’s developmental strides in Rivers State were evident in the quality of services provided in the State, as the Governor has demonstrated to be a pragmatic leader by marching words with actions.
The Commissioner criticised the former Government of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for failing to rebuild the burnt Mile One Market after making a promise to that effect, thereby plunging the affected traders and other users of the market into pains and misery.
Dr. Tam-George pointed out that the ground breaking ceremony was symbolic of Governor Wike’s priority of promoting thriving business activities in the state, noting that the Ultra Modern Market Project when completed will serve the commercial interest of not only Rivers State but Nigeria in general.
As part of Government’s commitment to promote enterprise development in the State, the Commissioner said the Governor recently disbursed a Micro credit loan of 2 billion to 36 thousand beneficiaries.
The Commissioner further disclosed that most of the projects embarked upon by Governor Wike were awarded and abandoned by the previous administration. He assured the commitment of the Wike’s administration to develop all parts of Rivers State.
