The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has declared that Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), is winning all rerun elections across Nigeria because the people have realised that the party is the only hope for the country.
The governor also called on Rivers people to defend their votes on March 19, 2016 in order to stop the APC from using security agencies to rig the polls.
Speaking in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area while flagging off the construction of Ozuoba-Rumuosi road, Ozuoba-Rumuokparali-Choba road, Rumualogu-Alakahia road and Igbogo-Choba road yesterday, Wike said Nigerians realised that the APC merely made promises with no intention to fulfill them.
He said: “Nobody will rig any election. We must mobilize to ensure that the will of the people will prevail. Make sure you protect your votes.”
The governor said that his massive execution of projects across the state stems from the fact that he intends to spread development in the state.
He added that the initiation of the four roads projects is an appreciation to the people of Akpor  for supporting the PDP over the years.
He said that his administration will continue to give priority to projects in Akpor Kingdom.
In his remarks, Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Bright Amaewhule, said the projects will stimulate the economy of the area.
Commissioner for Works, Engr Kelvin Wachukwu, said the four road projects will be constructed with modern technology to last a long time.
