Union Urges Peaceful Re-Run Poll

Negotiating Council (JPSNC), Rivers State Chapter has urged political parties to play by rules and ensure a peaceful re-run election in the state, comes March 19, 2016.
Speaking to The Tide in Port Harcourt yesterday the Union Chairman, Comrade Chukwu Emecheta said the re-run election should be conducted devoid of any crisis as the state cannot witness politics of crisis.
Emecheta enjoined candidates of the political parties to allow the people to freely vote candidates of their choice stressing that the peace and development of the state should be the major priority of all the candidates.
The Union’s leader called on people of the state to support the state government and security agencies to ensure a hitch-free election in the state without unnecessarily threatening the security of lives and property.
He said that security should intensify efforts to address the challenges of security breach in local government areas of the state to hip further threat to lives in the bud.
