RSG Harps On Policy For Sports Dev

Governor Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has reiterated the State Government’s commitment to fashioning out favourable Sports Policy that will encourage sports development in the State.
Dr Banigo stated this while declaring open, the first Regional Redeemers Day celebration, organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), at the Region 5, Headquarters, Aluu, in Ikwerre Local Government Area.
Represented by her Special Adviser on Administration, Mr Gilbert Nria, the Deputy Governor, stressed the importance of exercise to the healthy development of the body, adding that physical exercise complements the pursuit of spiritual goal.
“Sports is good for unity and good health, and so we appreciate the vision of the church in adopting sports as a means of uniting the people”, she said.
Dr Banigo lauded the RCCG, Region 5, for their prayers and support to the Government of Chief Nyesom Wike and promised to continue to partner with the church programmes to enhance evangelism.
The Deputy Governor expressed gratitude to the church, for inviting the State Governor to attend the Special Holy Ghost Covenant Service, which was held at the Redemption Camp, Lagos recently.
Earlier, the wife of the General Overseer, Pastor Folu Adeboye, who was represented by the wife of the Region 5, Pastor, Tamuno -Emi Obunge, said the Annual Programme was decentralised to the various Regions this year, to enable children from the regions participate and benefit from the programme.
The event featured the presentation of Awards to winners of the various competitions.
