‘Replicate Road Maintenance Agency At LG Levels

The Oyo State House
of Assembly has called on the new caretaker chairmen to replicate the State Road Maintenance Agency at the local government levels.
This followed the adoption of a motion moved by the Majority Leader of the House Mr Kehinde Subair and Mr Oyebamiji.
In the motion, the lawmakers deplored state of rural roads in the state and the way the previous local government caretaker chairmen ran the offices.
Oyebamiji said it was time to concentrate on rural roads in the state as they were means of transporting agricultural produce to the cities.
The Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, said past local government administration contributed to the deplorable state of rural roads as they preferred to construct new roads instead of maintaining the old ones.
He, however, urged the new caretaker chairmen to focus on maintaining the existing roads as they had limited time to complete new roads.
