PDP, Rivers People Urged To Protect Votes …As Sekibo Donates To Physically Challenged
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has called members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to protect their votes come Saturday March nineteen 2016.
Wike made the call, Monday while speaking at Rivers South East PDP rally in Bori.
The governor promised the people of the senatorial district of more developmental projects if PDP candidates are voted to represent them.
Our correspondent reports that PDP National Vice Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus also called on the people of the state to re-elect PDP candidates in the March 19 rerun elections.
The Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Felix Obuah, expressed satisfaction with the warm reception given to Governor Wike by the people of Ogoni during the Rivers South East Senatorial rally.
Obuah, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, said the overwhelming support was a clear endorsement of the PDP and its candidates in the March 19th election.
The statement assured the people of Ogoni that they will not regret their decision to vote for PDP and for supporting Wike.
Meanwhile, the PDP candidate for Rivers East Senatorial District in the March 19 rerun elections, Senator George Thompson Sekibo has donated over 50 wheel chairs to physically-challenged persons in his senatorial district.
Sekibo made the donations during a breakfast meeting with people living with disabilities in his residence in Port Harcourt.
The senator charged the people to see beyond their physical challenge and make themselves useful.
He also promised to put up a weeklong talent hunt programme amongst the people living with disabilities to help identify their talents.
Our correspondent reports that over two hundred elderly persons are currently on monthly stipends from Senator Sekibo.
