Ocholi Was My Counsel Royal Father

The paramount ruler of
Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, His Majesty, Emeka Anyabelem has said the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and the Minister of State, Labour and Employment for Labour and Employment, James Ocholi, was his lead counsel in the Rebisi chieftaincy stool with file Number/PHC/1818/2013 pending at the High Court.
Eze Anyabelem made this assertion at the weekend while speaking to the judiciary correspondents in Port Harcourt over the death of the Senior Advocate, who was reported dead on a ghastly motor accident along Abuja Kaduna road recently.
According to him, the late Senior Advocate led his legal team to Port Harcourt High Court and got an injunction restraining the state government from recognizing any person as a substantive Eze Rebisi till the matter was concluded in the court adding that the interlocutory injunction he secured was still in force and obeyed by all parties in the matter.
The monarch described the death of the Senior lawyer as  a big loss to the nations quest for change and development adding that the judiciary and indeed the country has lost one of the finest and most intelligent lawyers.
Eze Anyabelem averred that the country would miss the Senior Advocate of Nigeria for his repository knowledge in law adding that his sudden death was shocking and surprising to him.
“The late James Ocholi (SAN) was my lead counsel, his death came to me with great shock. We didn’t expect him to die so soon because he was still young and healthy. He was an embodiment of inspiration to me and my family”, he stated.
The Monarch while sympathizing with his family, federal government and the judiciary recalled his relationship and urged them to take solace in the Lord.
