Obuah Tasks Health Officers On Dirt-Free State

The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro Felix Obuah, has charged the State environmental health officers to ensure Gov Wike’s New Vision of a dirt free State is taken to the nooks and crannies of the State.
The RIWAMA Sole Administrator gave the charge while hosting environmental health officers who paid him courtesy visit in his office.
Bro Obuah said the task of keeping Rivers State clean and habitable was the task of everybody resident in the State irrespective profession, tribe or ethnicity.
He, however, expressed regrets that the door to door inspection of homes, offices and residences by the environmental health officers is on the decline and charged the health officers to reactivate the exercise, as well as their statutory serving of abatement notices to those deserving it.
According to the Sole Administrator, the State Governor, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike places high premium on restoring the Garden City status of Port Harcourt and its environs and will appreciate all concerned agencies and departments of government to ensure that this noble objective is realized.
He also charged them to strengthen their legal department with a view to prosecuting those who have formed the habit of flouting the sanitation laws of the State and those who dump refuse indiscriminately on the streets to serve as a deterrent to others.
Speaking earlier, the Head, Environmental Health of the State Waste Management Agency, Elder (Mrs) Gloria Obe commended the Sole Administrator, Bro Felix Obuah for providing a conducive working environment for the workers of the agency.
He also congratulated the Sole Administrator who is also the State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chairman on the recent victory of Governor Nyesom Wike at the Supreme Court.
