More APC Members Move TO PDP
Berely few days to
Saturday’s legislative rerun elections in Rivers State, the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Degema Local Government Area suffered more setbacks as scores of its members have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors are from Bukuma Community in Degema Local Government Area.
Receiving the defectors, PDP candidate for Degema Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly rerun election, Mr Doctor Farah Dagogo, congratulated the defectors for dumping their party to join the PDP.
Dagogo restated that PDP would be victorious in the rerun elections, assuring the defectors that they will be treated equally in the PDP.
The House of Assembly candidate further pledged to continue with his all encompassing and effective representation if elected in the rerun election on Saturday.
It would be recalled that Dagogo was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the general election held last year April into the state House of Assembly before his election was truncated by the Appeal Court last December.
Meanwhile, some members of the APC in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the state have defected to the ruling PDP due to the appointment of their sons and daughters into key positions in the state.
The state Governor Chief Nyesom Wike made this known during a thanksgiving service organized by the chairman of the local government, Chief Oye Igenewari to mark the Supreme Court Victory of the Governor, at Abua Central, headquarters of the council.
The Governor during the visit thanked the people for voting him and promised to reconstruct the link roads in the area as well as renovate some schools abandoned by the past administration in the area.
Wike urged the people of the area to turn out in large number to vote candidates of the PDP in Saturday’s rerun elections in the area.
