Ighalo Set To Rediscover Scoring Form
Nigeria international
Odion Ighalo has revealed that any time he did not score a goal during his month-long goals drought, he felt like he had let his English club Watford down.
On Sunday, the Watford striker ended a month-long goals drought after he netted in a massive 2-1 win over FA Cup holders Arsenal at The Emirates.
The former Granada hitman told newsmen “It was a great feeling to score against Arsenal at The Emirates.
“I have been working hard in training and matches, but the goals were not coming, that made me feel like I was letting my team down.”
He also said he is grateful to Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores for standing by him when the goals stopped coming.
“The coach told me that I am doing everything right, that the goals will come and that I should not put pressure on myself,” Ighalo said.
He has now scored a total of 16 goals in all competitions this season.
