19th NSF: Karate Association Vows To Surpass Former Record
The Rivers State Karate
Association says it would surpass the medals won at the 17th National Sports Festival NSF, tagged, “Garden City Games 2011” held in Port Harcourt.
Head coach of the state karate body, Coach Sensei Yacob O. Ewelie said this at the weekend in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, his team is working assiduously to ensure a positive result at the forthcoming “19th National Sports fiesta christened “Paradise Games” scheduled to hold later this year in Calabar, Cross River State.
The state karatas have been doing what they know best to do and are now set for the 19 NSF games. We have what it takes to achieve the desired result,” Emelie said.
He further said that with adequate motivation the team would eventually achieve their target at the fiesta, come November this year, saying that, the morale is high as they have made some good progress.
However, Emelie, urged his athletes to continue with their training and preparation to ensure that they actualize their dream, when the NSF gets underway.
It would be recalled that the state Karate team did not participate in the 18th NSF tagged “Eko 2012” held in Lagos State.
