The All Progressives
Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia said it remained committed to the progress of the state but had not received the hand of fellowship from Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.
The APGA Chairman in Abia, Mr Augustine Ehiemere, stated this in an interview with newsmen in Abia.
“Rebuilding Abia is the priority of Alex Otti and APGA but for the olive branch extended, I am yet to be aware of anything of such.
“I need to consult with the elders of my party and leaders before I can answer that, ‘’he said.
Ehiemere said that the party was still committed to the progress of the state, saying “although, we are not in power’’.
On whether the party would embrace the hands of friendship being extended by the state governor, the APGA chairman said he would need the response of his party members.
He said that the mechanism of realising their plan had also been worked out, so that they would be on a new page with interested stakeholders in the state.
Ehiemere did not comment on how APGA’s dream of rebuilding Abia would be possible without joining hands with the ruling party in Abia, which is the PDP.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to Abia Government, Dr Emelike Okoro, said on the State-owned radio station on Monday that, he had reached out to APGA to join hands to rebuild Abia.
