Rivers Cycling Association Prepares For NSF
Head Coach of the
Rivers State Cycling Association Emmanuel Ononsanya said that preparations have commenced for the forthcoming National Sports Festival scheduled to hold later this year in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
Ononsanya disclosed at the weekend in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, intensive preparation has began, saying that, the regular training sessions and the monthly cycling competition are the first steps of the team’s preparations ahead of future competition.
Meanwhile, the team is waiting for a substantial date from the management of the sports council to start adequate preparation for the task ahead.
He also said that the annual “Garden City Cycling Championship might not hold this year.
“We need money to organize the competition but there is no fund right now, with the look of things it might be postponed to next year,” Ononsanya explained.
The 2015 edition of the programme was also shifted to this year.
