NFF’s Match Commissioners Seminar Begins, Feb 17

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) yesterday in Abuja said it had concluded plans for a three -day seminar for Match Commissioners in the country’s football.
In a statement on its website, NFF said the seminar scheduled for February 17 to February 19 was part of preparations ahead of the kick-off of the new football season.
The League Management Company (LMC) has already announced that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season would kick off on February 21.
The Nigeria National League (NNL) has also set February 27 for the commencement of its new season.
Also, the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) will start on Feb. 20, while the Nationwide League One (NLO) will commence on March 17.
The statement quoted the Secretary of the NFF Match Commissioners’ Appointment Committee, Danlami Alanana, as saying about 1,000 Match Commissioners were expected at the annual event.
“The event has now been segmented into three days. The opening day is February 17 and this will be attended by Match Commissioners of the NPFL.
“The following day will see Match Commissioners of the NNL take their turn, while Match Commissioners of the NWFL and the NLO will be in attendance on the final day, February 19.
“All arrangements have been concluded, and the seminar will hold in Abuja and we expect close to 1,000 Match Commissioners,” Alanana said.
