NFF Fixes August 28 For Federation Cup Final

eration (NFF) has fixed August 28 for the grand finale of the men and women 2016 Federation Cup competitions.
This is contained in a statement posted on the NFF website on Tuesday by Emmanuel Adesanya, Head of Federation Cup unit at the football secretariat.
The statement said that registration for the competitions had closed but that submission of completed licences started on February 22 and would end on Februay 26.
“The submission of completed licences for endorsement started on Monday and will close on Friday.
“Teams can no longer register for either the women or the men’s competition,’’ the statement said.
It also said that the state preliminaries of this year’s competitions would kick off on March 5, adding that the finals had been scheduled to take place on April 3.
The Tidesports source reports that Akwa United FC of Uyo defeated Lobi Stars of Makurdi 2-1 in the final match of the 2015 edition of the Federation Cup.
The match was played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The women competition saw Sunshine Queens defeat Bayelsa Queens 4-2 on penalties to win the women’s title.
