Make Necessary Amendments In Internal Revenue, Contractor Tells Wike

The Rivers State Gov
ernor, Chief Nyesom Wike has been urged to look into the state Internal Revenue Service and make amendments where necessary, so as to balance the revenue base of the state.
The Manager, Rigour Edge Nigeria Limited, Mr Monday Igwe, said this in an interview with newsmen at the weekend in Port Harcourt.
He said that the internal crisis in the revenue board, is now affecting the system as most tax operators, especially road tax are no longer willing to apply for new contracts.
Igwe pointed out that the governor’s intervention in the area will change a lot of things in the system.
The Rigour Edge boss, who said he was a tax contractor with the board some time ago, said his withdrawal was due to the alleged crisis in the system.
He said the board needed a kind of overhauling that will usher in new tax capable of changing the entire system.
He explained that upon proper management, that the place  can stability the state revenue –wise with depending on the federal government.
The Tide learnt that there is serious plans by the Government to change the management of the board in abid to meeting up with its targets.
The tax expert, also hinted that most road tax contractors are no longer meeting up with their daily tax collection due to refusal  by payers  to comply on the grounds of the alleged crisis in the board.
Meanwhile, he has lauded the state governor over his plans to improve the economic fortunes of the state.
