Ex-Speaker, APC Warn Youth Against Violence

ers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikiniyi Owaji Ibani, has cautioned youth in Andoni Constituency against election violence in the forthcoming re-run elections in the area.
Rt. Hon. Ibani, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 19 re-run election into the State House of Assembly, gave the advice over the weekend during an interactive session with youths at Ataba Community in Andoni Local Government Area of the State. He promised to congratulate any of his opponents who wins in the re-run election., under free, fair and non-violence atmosphere.
The former speaker also pledged to place Andoni Constituency in the centre of economic and political development in the state, if voted again into the State Assembly.
According to him, the Government of PDP in the state is committed to give Andoni a new face of development in terms of roads infrastructure, education and health facilities, among others.
Ibani’s main political rival in the forthcoming election, Dr Romson Dressman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised to enact laws that will bring economic development to Andoni.
Dr Dressman gave the assurance during a campaign tour with Senator Magnus Abe to Orokoto Fishing Community in Andoni Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, Senator Abe who is seeking re-election to represent Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is the only man in the district who has the listening ear of President Muhammad Buhari and who can easily convey the problems of the Senatorial District and Andoni Constituency to the Federal Government.
Dressman also cautioned the youths in the area against any form of violence and rigging before and during the forthcoming re-run polls.
