The people of
Odual Kingdom in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State have hailed the recent victory of Governor Nyesome Wike at the Supreme Court, describing it as a divine mandate.
The Odual people made this remark at a meeting of chiefs, opinion leaders and professionals held at Ahoada, recently.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the meeting, the O’lema Odual Kingdom XIX, King Temple M. Jamala II said the Supreme Court’s verdict that restored the mandate of Governor Wike was divine stressing that God wants peace in the state.
“You can see that the heated political atmosphere in the state has been diffused and peace has once again been enthroned in the state”, he said.
They, however, pledged their unflinching support for the governor even as they urged the governor to deliver his campaign promise to construct motorable road to Odual.
The people thanked Governor Wike for appointing two of their sons, Hon. Ilami and Dr Scott Akpilla as Special Advisers in addition to the appointment of Mrs Ukel Oyaghiri as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Marhall Uwom.
