Car Dealer Laments Lull In Business
A dealer in second-
hand auto-mobile cars otherwise known as ‘Tokumbo’, Haruna Hassan has decried the lull in the business as a result of the dwindling economy of the country.
Hassan, who barred his mind in a chat with The Tide correspondent in Port Harcourt said the economic situation of the country was bitting hard on their business because of poor patronage by customers
According to him, aside from the government policy on automobile which also affected importation of used vehicles into the country, other measures on ground like the Central Bank of Nigeria’s recent policy on importation are impacting negatively on their activities, and expressed fear that if the situation remains unabated, it could send most of the leaders out of business.
He lamented that customers were no longer coming to patronize them as before due to the fall in value of the Nigerian currency and other factors.
He called on the Federal Government and other relevant authorities to look inward, and make live bearable for them and the common people in the society.
Hassan, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Hassan Motors Ltd also noted that they were being challenged in the business following the drop in importation of vehicles and regretted that as stakeholders, they are in a fix and appealed to government to come to their aid.
