Behave Like Statesmen, Cleric Tells Politicians
The General Overseer of
Salvation Ministries, Pastor David/Ibiyeomie, has urged politicians in the country to behave like statesmen and not like mere politicians.
Pastor Ibiyeomie gave the advice on Saturday, while delivering a sermon during the thanksgiving service and victory celebration of Governor Nyesom Wike at the Supreme Court.
The event which was organised by the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Liberation Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt, was attended by some PDP chieftains including Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, National Chairman of the PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff the House of Representatives Minority Leader, Hon Leo Ogor.
Pastor Ibiyeomie said statesmen are not greedy and selfish, but devote their energy and resources to make a strong nation.
The cleric urged politicians of different shades to bury their political differences and work together to make Nigeria great again.
He admonished Governor Wike and the leadership of the PDP in the state to continue to have trust in God, saying that God is the builder of every society.
Hon Leo Ogor in his own speech said the Supreme Court judgement on the Rivers State governorship election was a confirmation that Rivers State is a PDP state, expressing optimism that the party would win the forthcoming state and National Assembly elections in the state.
He commended the Supreme Court for saving Rivers State from violence and crisis that would have attended a governorship rerun election in the state.
He wondered what would have happened if the Supreme Court had sacked Governor Wike against the mandate of his people in the state.
