APC’s Political Fundamentalism Will Fail – Tam-George
The Rivers State Government says the rise of political fundamentalism advanced by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its cronies in Rivers State will be defeated.
The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dr Austin Tam-George, who stated this in a press statement decried what he described as carefully orchestrated campaign of calumny launched by the APC and its cowardly surrogates against Nigeria’s justice system, which is the bedrock of our evolving constitutional democracy.
The commissioner in a reaction to a widely reported statement credited to Prof Itse Sagay that “Governor Wike climbed into the governorship seat over dead bodies and over blood of human beings” described the statement as an assault on the legally sound and unanimous judgement of the Supreme Court.
According to the commissioner, Prof Itse Sagay’s comment on the Supreme Court’s judgement exposes him as , one of the most opportunistic enablers of the corrupt regime of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi in Rivers State. He regretted that Prof Sagay without any shred of proof decided to resort to the silly and unsubstantiated hearsay story, peddled by the APC that elections never held in Rivers State, which had prompted him to re-litigate a settled matter in such a disgraceful manner. The Commissioner pointed out that, in the twilight of an unremarkable career, Prof Sagay was seeking to be the dubious originator of the sick jurisprudence of ‘every body knows’, even without evidence.
Tam- George said Rivers people will not give up their sovereignty by yielding to the plots of the APC and their handlers who wish to re-write the history of the people.
He called on the international community to restrain the APC from its desperate attempts to politically dominate the state and plunder its resources.
